ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Pamela A. Paulhus, MD, FAAP

Thank you for your interest in this course and my professional background.  I'm a Yale-trained pediatrician, a Diplomate of The National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Biology at The King's College, I attended Fordham University to obtain my Master of Science Degree in the same discipline. From there, I taught chemistry and biology at the high school and college levels, respectively, and was then a department manager of a vocational rehabilitation program for the physically and/or mentally challenged.  Though I enjoyed all of these opportunities, I could not get the lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician out of my head and heart. One of the best days of my life was when I received the acceptance letter from New York Medical College. After receiving my MD, I began my residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. Those seven years of medical school and residency were just amazing and prepared me for all that followed - outpatient or inpatient pediatrics, international medical missions, and national radio or television to speak on international adoption. My favorite thing is everyday pediatrics - keeping children healthy, watching them grow, and developing relationships with families.  I especially treasured this in 2012 when - following a year long recovery from a car accident - I had a joyous return to medicine with the opening of my private practice.

I've been a pediatrician since 1997, and still love it.  I've enjoyed putting this course together for you.  Thanks for dropping in, and hope to see you soon!
